![]() It’s clear Nvidia is positioning the RTX 2060 to go up against the 10Ti. Compared to the other RTX cards in the line-up, 2060 has the least amount of tensor and RT cores in the line-up, topping out at 240 and 30. It also has 6GB of GDDR6 RAM compared to the GDDR5 8GB of 1070 but at a higher memory clock of 14Gbps. On paper, the RTX 2060 is comparable to the GTX 1070 in terms of CUDA cores (1920) but operates at a lower base frequency of 1365MHz compared to the 1506MHz of the GTX 1070. On the back of the card are two DisplayPorts, one HDMI, USB-C and one DVI port. ![]() Like the RTX 2070, 2060 draws power from a single 8-pin connector and has no support for SLI. The cooling system is even more impressive under load, where it returns temperatures cooler than both the 1060 and the 1070/1070Ti. Another highlight is the new open-air cooler design that keeps the card’s thermals in check effectively and runs barely a degree or two hotter than the GTX 1060 when idle. It’s made from the same aluminium chassis and looks really luxurious. Like the 2070 or the 2080Ti, 2060 retains that sleek, premium design. If there is one thing Nvidia can’t be faulted for in the RTX GPU lineup, it’s the design of the founder’s edition cards.
